GREAT morning beautiful people! Happy Friday! Here is today's quote:
Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential. -Winston Churchill
Confession: A few days ago I found myself a little discouraged. I started to feel like my degrees and my intelligence weren't enough. Like I hadn't networked with enough people. Like I was weak. I started contemplating settling into a job I didn't want because I thought finding a job I truly love was a dream. Yea, I was trippin', HARD. Thats the part of post-grad life they don't tell you about. Thats the part people won't admit they experience. It donned on me that 1/2 the battle on the journey to reaching your personal goals is to remain motivated when things appear to be at a standstill. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, muster up the strength to keep your momentum going. Also important is to tell someone how you're feeling. Don't allow that kind of stress to simmer inside of you. Stress can be seriously debilitating and its important to acknowledge that it exists and to work through its root causes. Continue to believe in yourself. Don't allow your surroundings to break you. Don't allow your spirit to be saddened. You have to find your inner strength and rely upon it to continue fighting for your dreams. When all else fails, you will succeed if you continue to push forward. Even when it appears the odds are stacked against you, brainstorm ways to get around them because quitting is unacceptable.

GREAT morning my beauties!!! I know you all missed me because I sure did miss you all! I have a quick minute to post so I thought I would share some inspiration with my loves. Here is today's quote:
Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions. -Dalai Lama
I know this week its been tortoise slow at Talented Generation, but I promise things will pick up soon. I appreciate you all for sticking with me. This may be a day late and a dollar short since today is Friday but eff it. Has anyone ever told you "Its a blessing to be a blessing?" Well its true. Don't believe me? If you have an opportunity to be a blessing to someone else, take advantage of it. Take note of how it makes you feel.I bet it makes you feel good. I bet it makes you feel better if you do it just because you wanted to do it and not because you were expecting something in return.
Today's challenge is to use your energy to make yourself happy but allot enough energy to do something kind for someone else.

GREAT morning guys and gals! Its a new day to celebrate life and its many surprises. We can celebrate together thru today's quote:
"If you want to take your mission in life to the next level, if you're stuck and you don't know how to rise, don't look outside yourself. Look inside. Don't let your fears keep you mired in the crowd. Abolish your fears and raise your commitment level to the point of no return, and I guarantee you that the Champion Within will burst forth to propel you toward victory."- Bruce Jenner
I never imagined the day would come when I used a quote from a member of the Kardash clan. Fact is, its difficult to escape their strong hold so if you can't beat em...moving on. Today I challenge all of you to reach deep inside of yourselves and push yourself to go above and beyond. Ask yourself, what are you motivated by? Ask yourself, what are you trying to accomplish? Teach yourself to look inside yourself for motivation. I am not saying you cannot spoil yourself with material things but that should not be your only motivation. Search for long term motivation and things that will still be meaningful to you years from now.
Do what you do because it will make you happy not because it looks good or makes others envy you.
Have an IMPECCABLE hump day!
Today's song choice: Mike Jones (WHO?!)-Back Then
P.S. In an attempt to fix my internet connection, I reset my modem and password but now it doesn't work AT ALL. Techs have been called and the problem should be fixed by Friday. Thanks for reading!

GREAT morning beautiful!! Happy first day of school to all the parents, students and teachers. Remember this is not the time to get a break, it is a time to pay attention. Get involved with your school. Here is today's quote:
If evil be said of thee, and if it be true, correct thyself; if it be a lie, laugh at it.-Epictetus
I come to you all today with a heavy heart and since I don't believe in sharing when you are angry I will just leave it at that. Every once in a while a situation presents itself to me and angers me to the point where I cannot think straight. In light of the situation, today's lesson is brought to you by the letter R for research. Research before you form an opinion about something. Research before you decide to open your mouth and voice said opinion. You won't always be around people who will correct your ignorant behavior so you must take the initiative to both censor and educate yourself. If there is something, or someone, you do not know much about censor yourself. It is best to keep your opinions to yourself than to risk sounding like an idiot for discussing something you don't know much about. On the flipside, if you discover someone spreading inaccurate information about something you are passionate about it is your responsibility to address them. I'm not saying you all should be confrontational or go around being the rumor police but you should address them and the rumor. If you choose not to address it because you think someone else will, you are only adding to the problem. Spreading lies is an injustice to everyone affected by them. If you discover an injustice, do something about it!! Don't wait around for someone else to protect what you're passionate about. Obviously they don't care based on their actions.
If you don't fight for yourself, no one else will fight for what you believe in.

GREAT morning beautiful people!! I'm so glad you stopped by. Thank gawd today is Friday!
Here is today's quote:
As recent grads, new hires and eager professionals we spend a considerable amount of time trying to get to where we are. We get caught up in the hustle and forget to take time to "take it all in." Now is the time to do that. Take a few moments and appreciate where you are at this moment. Look around and where you are and think about what you have. Appreciate that there are people who would like to be where you are. Remember this when you get an inkling of a feeling that you might want to complain. Accept that your struggles will make you stronger. Endure your struggles with a positive mindset and an optimistic spirit. Celebrate your achievements. Celebrate yourself. Celebrate your family and your friends. You may feel like you still have a long way to go but don't allow yourself to forget how far you have come. You deserve to be happy and to celebrate. Do all of this, and keep fighting to see your dreams come true.
Today's Song Choice: A Change is Gonna Come-Sam Cooke. I dare you to take a music break, close your eyes and listen to this song. Don't sing along, just LISTEN to Sam's voice. If you aren't moved, you're not human!
SN: A HUGE (early) Happy 25th Birthday s/o to my friend of 15 years (Dang I'm old!) T.Pearson! Love you for the ups, the downs and your honest but caring words. Just know, this is the FUN part!

Good Morning beautiful people! TGIM: Thanks goodness its Monday! No? Just Me? ok.
To always be intending to live a new life, but never find time to set about it - this is as if a man should put off eating and drinking from one day to another till he be starved and destroyed. ~Walter Scott
Don't put off embarking on a new adventure until you feel the time is right. WHOA! That sounded like some generally effing fortune cookie didn't it? I'm getting good at this or bad depending on how you feel about fortune cookies. Back to my point. Some of you have already let go of your new year's resolutions and you're coming to grips with the disappointment that comes from letting go. Don't allow yourself to believe you are incapable of achieving your goals. Don't wait for another year to come before you motivate yourself to make a change. If you are waiting for "the right time" to do something, the "right time" will NEVER come. The time will never seem right. There will always be obstacles, hurdles and stop signs in your way. Even when things are going seemingly well you may find yourself thinking "if it aint one thing its another," unless you don't use "ain't" then you wouldn't find yourself thinking it. If there is something you don't like about yourself or your life, resolve to fix it now. Bulldoze that sh*t out of your way and make the change you know you need to make. What are you waiting for?
Put one foot in front of the other and hustle through this day! Let's start this week off productive and positive.

Good Morning beautiful people!!! I admit I'm a little late with today's inspirational quote but better late than never, right?
Today's Quote: Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push. A smile. A world of optimism and hope. A "you can do it" when things are tough. -Richard M. DeVos
If no one has told you in the last few hours that you can do it, I'm here to change that. Listen closely. Come a little bit closer. Are you ready? *taps screen* YOU CAN DO IT! Pow! When you feel yourself getting discouraged, say this five times to yourself and push yourself to keep working. You can complete the tasks you set out to complete. You WILL complete them. You can do whatever you set your mind to and you WILL see it through. Don't wait around for someone else to give you that extra PUSH, push yourself! Nobody is going to care about your success as much as you do. No one will care about you being discouraged the way you will. Find your source of motivation and hope. Hold on to it. Write it down on a piece of paper and post it around your home. Make it into a graphic and save it to your desktop. Don't ever forget why you do what you do. Keep your eyes on the prize.

Good morning beautiful people! Its time for some morning inspiration. Are you ready? Well here is today's quote:
"Everything is okay in the end, if it's not ok, then it's not the end."
As a budding professional itching to take the legal world by storm, I often struggle with situations where things seem out of whack. I don't allow them to stress me out but they are a source of concern for me. I have earned my degrees, I worked hard and I did my best but it sometimes seems like my ducks don't want to line up in a row. Those little rebellious bastards. Some of you may be thinking the same thing. Some of you may feel like everything is "peachy" and you don't know what the heck I'm talking about. Welp, today's post is not really for you "peachy" folks; I love ya but today's not your day.
I am reminded of the above quote each time I feel like I have hit a dead end. I am a true lover of quotes and my apartment is filled with encouraging words so I have posted today's quote on my door. I see it before I leave my apartment everyday. If things get fishy throughout the day, I remind myself that its not the end. I also constantly reevaluate what I believe "ok" looks like. Admittedly, I sometimes have inflated views of reality and of myself, Victorian images even (*giggles*), and I have to force myself to come back to reality. Sometimes when I think things are horrible, I look at them from a different perspective and realize things are not bad at all.
I stopped by to tell all of you that if things are not how you want them to be, renew your faith in yourself. Talk to your creator about the purpose for which he created you. Re-dedicate yourself to living a purpose driven life. You may not get the job you want or the life you want right now, but you MUST not give up on watching your dreams come true. You may have to work a job just to pay the bills but make the most of it. Continue to apply to your dream jobs and keep the faith in yourself. YOU were born worthy of greatness. YOU must proclaim great things for your life. We all fall short but don't allow your shortcomings to break your spirit. Perhaps you fell short for a reason. Maybe you are being groomed to acquire more of the skills you will need to succeed at a level beyond your dreams. Reach down deep into yourself and remember why you have held on for so long. Remind yourself why you set out to achieve the things you did and use it as motivation to keep going.
Having a strong support system who understands you is crucial. I thank the man above everyday for blessing me with a supportive family because he knew how much I would need to tap into that system. Even when I feel discouraged, I can never stay that way because I am uplifted by the people I know are rooting for me.
Somehow I think I might have written this message for myself more than I wrote it for any of you. Either way, someone else needed to see this.
Stay Encouraged!

GREAT morning everyone!! I hope everyone enjoyed their day of love and celebrations! As you sit and reminisce on the happenings of yesterday, get inspired with today's quote:
In recent weeks, we have seen the effects of social change through the revolutions of the people in the Middle East. Many of us are too young to remember what it felt like to live through the Nat Turner Revolts, the Cuban Missile Crisis or the 1986 revolt against Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines or even the Chilean transition to democracy in 1990, and lets not forget the 1998 uprising in Indonesia that drove out President Suharto. The fact that we don't remember those revolutions does not mean we can't use them as examples of what happens when people become fed up and demand change. Your age does not determine your level of involvement or even the amount of power you have. There is and will always be strength in numberswith dollar signs in front of them. Beware of your surroundings and become involved in your community. Find out what the common and not-so-common issues are and attack them in large numbers. In elections, we are consistently ranked as the group with the lowest turnout and it is time to stop this now. We cannot continue to complain when education or when our issues are completely ignored when we have a 4% turnout in elections. The time is now to grow the momentum and get your peers excited about change.
As Young Professionals we are set to become the (and some of you already are) CEO's, CFO's, Presidents, Mayors, Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers and the overall leaders of tomorrow. Its our time to step up and revolutionize the way we conduct ourselves. Its our turn to take the reigns and take control of our world. What are we waiting for? Why are we still JUST complaining? What are you really doing right now? Do you have healthcare? If you don't have you called your local representatives to demand that they vote for it? Do you have student loans? Have you contacted your representatives to ensure they will vote to give more scholarships and grants to students? Pause. Lets start from the beginning. Do you have the contact information of your local and national representatives? Are you doing anything to elect people who truly represent our viewpoints and will speak up for us or are you following the crowd?
Do you see what I did there? I hope you did. Its not always about being inspired to do work, sometimes the people need to be inspired to get off of their hind parts and get involved. Oh yea I forgot, some of you came to read something inspirational: Everyday is like a snapshot taken. Make your slideshow worth watching.

GREAT morning everyone! Congratulations, you have survived the standard workweek! BUT, if you're anything like me, the weekend has become a time to catch up on all the things you allowed to fall by the wayside throughout the week. If this has never happened to you, count your blessings!
When was the last time you truly stood up for something you believed in? If your belief system was challenged in your workplace what would you do? Would you stand up for yourself or would you let it slide for fear that you may lose your job?Beliefs dont pay the bills do they? Since the fear of losing your job is REAL, I wont issue a challenge that will jeopardize your employment. BUT I will challenge you to stick to your belief system no matter what. If your ideals prevent you from handling certain matters, find a way to express your sentiments to your supervisor and ask for some kind of accommodation. I dont live in a cave or a box so I recognize this may not always be the best option and that is why I call it a challenge. Challenges are not meant to be easy. The purpose they serve is to force you to think outside of the proverbial box. Do not misinterpret my challenge as me telling you to barge into your boss's office demanding to be switched to another assignment. This is not the Tasha Mack School of Business! I am challenging you all to find ways to stand up for your ideals which will help you find a way to balance your beliefs with your employment. While I am not naive enough to say everyone is tolerant, you may be surprised to see how much your beliefs are embraced by your co-workers or not. Either way, it will give you the opportunity to learn more about the people you spend a great amount of time with.
The weekend is usually a time where we relax and catch up on our thoughts that we might have lost during the week. Today I challenge you all to use the weekend to learn something new. Visit a museum or buy a new book. Visit a new city and go on a tour. Learn about a new culture. Visit a new restaurant and try a new entree or dessert.
Today's Song Choice: Frankie Beverly and Maze-Before I let you go (LIVE!) I dare you to listen and NOT tap your feet! It's impossible!
Spread Love!!!
Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope... and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. ~Robert F. Kennedy
The photo you see affixed to the right features American sprinters Carlos and Tommie Smith. The two raised their black-gloved fists on the medals stand as a symbol of protest 40 years ago at the Mexico City Olympics. Not only did they take a powerful stance, they also created an iconic image from the games. One that is as powerful today as it was when the men stood on the podium. Speaking to The Associated Press on the Fourth of July, Carlos said it wasn't an easy decision to raise his hand in protest during the playing of "The Star-Spangled Banner." Both he and Smith were expelled from the games.

GREAT morning everyone!!! Happy "almost Friday!!"
Have you ever stopped and wondered if anything you are doing will make "history"? Not just history in your hometown or history in your friend circle but history on a larger scale. I'm talking national history or making the history books of your college or university. I'm talking "a street is named after me" history. Maybe I'm a narcissist but I think about this all the time. I wonder how I will leave my mark on the world on a daily basis. I assume many of you are the "movers, shakers and gunners" of your community and I commend you. Whats your motivation? Do you want to be part of the "cool kids" or are you simply motivated by reaching the pinnacle of success?
Imagine being Rosa Parks and doing something your spirit moved you to do and you end up making history! Since I know the back story behind the bus boycott I wont go so far as to say Rosa Parks simply refused to give up her seat for the heck of it, but I will say maybe she didn't know the full impact of her actions on that fateful day. Sometimes we do things and we don't realize the full impact of our actions until days, weeks or years later. This often happens with random acts of kindness where people take a few moments to get over their initial shock at your behavior before they recognize the value of your actions. Fact is, if you're doing something because you want some form of recognition you are doing it for the wrong reasons. Just sayin...

GREAT Morning everyone! Happy "almost Friday!"
I have said it before and I will say it a million times-YOU define what success looks like. Although I understand for some business models, success is measured according to the success/failure of other businesses but that is not what I am referring to. What do you consider success? Steve Harvey once said if he never sold over 500,000 copies of his book but he got the opportunity to go on Oprah's talk show he would consider himself a success. Steve Harvey is a comedian by trade who decided to write a relationship book after giving in to requests by his fans to do so. He has a syndicated radio show that airs in major markets daily from 6am-10am. Based on this information, I am sure his definition of success for his book is different from other people who have written books. In case you're wondering, Steve was on the Oprah show and he sold well over 500,000 copies AND he got a deal to write another book which is also selling well. Some authors aim to be on the New York Times Best Seller list while others aim for a coveted spot in Oprah's book club and others still aim to sell a certain number of copies. The same goes for people in business, in school and in their personal lives. Do not aim to have a "better" situation than someone else, aim to improve your own situation. Aim to be better daughters, fathers, sons, mothers, coworkers and supervisors. The competition for business profits is with others; the competition to reach your full potential in life is with yourself.
If you measure your success based on what someone else believes makes you successful, its time to change your metric system.
Today's Song Choice: Maze featuring Frankie Beverly-Before I let go
SN: Happy 2nd Inaugural Anniversary Mr. President!! I was there and the experience was truly UNFORGETTABLE!

GREAT morning beautiful people! Happy Hump Day!!
Have you ever accomplished something others said you couldn't and SHOCKED yourself? OR better yet, have you ever accomplished something that along the way you doubted whether it could be done? If your answer to these questions is negative, you arent pushing yourself enough (or maybe you arent easily amused). If your answers are in the affirmative then I would say you are on the right pathor you're very sure of yourself. There is a special satisfaction that comes from pushing yourself an extra mile. There is much to be said about pushing your limits physically and mentally and the satisfaction that comes form doing so.
I know many of you made "New Year's Resolutions" and some of you may have already given up on them. You may have resolved to save money but reverted to your old ways and taken advantage of all the MLK day sales. You may have resolved to lose weight or adopt a healthier lifestyle but you fell prey to restaurant week specials. What you have done is fallen off of the path, nothing more. Do not count these shortcomings as failures. No man is an island. If you have trouble sticking to your resolutions, break them down and turn them into more obtainable short term goals. Hence, instead of saying you will eat healthier, say you will eat 2 pieces of fruit a day. Instead of saying you will save thousands of dollars, save a few dollars a day by bringing your lunch twice a week and packing snacks. Build upon your short term goals and increase your goals incrementally until you get where you would like to be. Give yourself a new timeline and do your best to stick to it. Always remember, God doesnt always call the qualified, he qualifies the called. With that said, you may have been placed in a situation where you do not believe you can finish what you started but there is ALWAYS a way. You may not finish exactly how you planned, but you will never know what you are capable of if you quit prematurely. You do not know everything about everything and you are not expected to. When it appears you have reached a dead end, take a moment to assess the situation. Go backwards and retrace your steps to see where you may have slipped up. Do not be afraid to admit your mistakes, its in our nature to make them! In fact I encourage all of you to actively seek out blotches in your track record so you can turn them into a lesson learned.
Today's song choice: Whitney Houston & Mariah Carey-When you Believe.
LOVE!
P.S. Excuse me if I sound a little bit "salty" today. I got word of a visit from Michelle Obama at our school today, swindled my way into a ticket and then I couldnt get out of work...yep I'm salty.
"There is no such thing as can't, only won't. If you're qualified, all it takes is a burning desire to accomplish, to make a change. Go forward, go backward. Whatever it takes! But you can't blame other people or society in general. It all comes from your mind. When we do the impossible we realize we are special people." --Jan Ashford

GREAT morning beautiful people!!! Happy Monday! Did ya miss me? I missed you all and I'm so very glad to have my exams in my rearview mirror. Do me a favor and say a prayer for my success. Enough about me, here is today's quote:
Sidenote: Its my absolute favorite time of the year!! I adore (almost) everything about the holiday season and I hope you take the opportunity to enjoy all the Christmas-like cheer. If you should happen to run into a Scrooge remember this: The best way to spread Christmas cheer is to sing very loud for all to hear!!
Today's Song Choice: Mariah Carey-All I want for Christmas
Love!!!!
“You've done it before and you can do it now. See the positive possibilities. Redirect the substantial energy of your frustration and turn it into positive, effective, unstoppable determination.” -Ralph MarstonToday I challenge all of you to turn all of your frustration (from every angle of your life) and turn it into determination! Dont waste your energy allowing yourself to feel frustrated. Recognize your frustration and the source of it. No matter what is causing you to frustrated, remember you can gain control of your life by learning to control your emotions. Once you are able to recognize the source of your frustration it will become easier to eliminate it. Channel your frustration into something productive and make great things happen today!! You have to decide you want to remain positive in the face of adversity. I believe you can do it now all you have to do is believe in yourself!

GREAT morning beautiful people!!! Today's quote:
When life hands you lemons, ask for sugar and water and make a delicious lemonade!!

P.S. Remember to go through your social networking accounts and remove everything that doesnt pass the "Grandmother test." Whats the grandmother test? Its a standard for social networking that requires you to remove anything from your profile that you would be too embarrassed to show your grandmother.
Like the elephant, we are unconscious of our own strength. When it comes to understanding the power we have to make a difference in our own lives, we might as well be asleep. If you want to make your dreams come true, wake up. Wake up to your own strength. Wake up to the role you play in your own destiny. Wake up to the power you have to choose what you think, do, and say. -Keith EllisWake up people!! Awaken the beast inside of you and become unstoppable. When someone puts an obstacle in your way, figure out a way to conquer it. Dont let the obstacle force you to quit. Quitting is not an option! There is always a way to make something work, you just have to be willing to find it! Accept the cards you were dealt and play them as best you can. Stop using the past as an excuse. You cant change where you were born. You cant change who your family is. You can't change what your childhood was like. What you can do is focus on the things you can change. Focus on deciding the type of person you want to become. Focus on sculpting your career path. Focus on your future and use your past as motivation for a better life. Focus on surrounding yourself with people who can help you become better. When things (job, relationship, school) don't work out in your favor, it is because you do NOT need those things in your life anymore. Dont spend your time dwelling on failure. Bad relationships, negative people and jobs that dont challenge you are all DEAD weight; BURY them! Do not mourn when you lose those things, use them as a challenge to wake up and recognize what you still have. Dont fall victim to complacency. Dont be afraid of change. Dont be afraid to eliminate the things that are holding you back. Wake up and give yourself the opportunity to do something great today!

GREAT morning beautiful people!! Happy "Almost Friday" to those of you who work a standard workweek and a Happy Thursday to everyone else!
"If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.” -Albert Einstein
Have you ever noticed there are moments when you are so happy all you can do is smile? I sure hope so. Do you remember what you were doing? Was it shopping? Was it spending time with your family? Was it snuggled up with your significant other?
Its no secret that we have a tendency to tie our happiness to people and things, but today I challenge you to break those ties. While I am not recommending that we rid ourselves of the things that make us happy, I am challenging you to transfer your happy energy from people and things to goals and accomplishments.
Is your happiness tied to the weather? Are you as happy in the rain as you are when the sun is shining?
Is your happiness tied to material things? Are you as happy when you're at home watching television as you are when you're out shopping?
Is your happiness tied to a person? Are you as happy doing things alone as you are when you are with your S/O?
Is your happiness tied to food? Are you as happy when you're eating (even though you're not hungry) as you are when you decide you're satisfied with the food you've already eaten?
YOU are the one who must decide to tie your happiness to your goals & accomplishments. Focus on yourself and what makes YOU who you are. Things perish and people let you down. Master the ability to deal with your own problems and discover what life is like when you have decided you want to be happy!!
Remember you have to believe in yourself before you expect others to do the same!

GREAT morning beautiful people!!! Happy Hump Day!
Its a double duty day of quotes today:
This morning's message is all about giving thanks. Today I woke up and it was one of those mornings where I realized how blessed I really am. I dont think you get it. I lit'rally woke up this morning and said "Man I am blessed." Although I publish inspiration for you all, sometimes I lose sight of my own strength and inspiration. I have my own struggles and insecurities but I chose not to allow them to get the best of me. This is because I believe for every ONE thing I could choose to complain about, there are 100 other things I could give thanks for. For example, I could complain about having a headache OR I could give thanks for awareness, for sanity, for having the funds to purchase meds and for having a warm place to sleep it off. I have come a long way on my journey to adulthood and I am still learning and deciding the type of person I want to become. I am not the wealthiest woman in the world but I am not poor either. I am thankful for where I am and I appreciate everyone and everything in my life right now. I encourage you to do the same. Maybe you dont understand what it means to be thankful for the little things but I hope you do. With that said, I hereby declare today a day to give thanks. Don't wait until Thanksgiving (or any other holiday) to recognize what you are thankful for, you can do it right now! Fight for what you believe in, give yourself to the people you love and remain humbled and thankful for all that you have. At the same time, recognize that you can work to create or obtain the things you lack.
Since this song was in my heart this morning, its my song choice. Check it>> Total Praise.

Its a double duty day of quotes today:
If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice. ~Meister Eckhart
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. ~John Fitzgerald Kennedy

GREAT morning beautiful ladies and gents! Happy Tuesday!
"It's better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than yours and you'll drift in that direction." Warren Buffett
Always surround yourself with positive people who will keep you in line but its time to add another characteristic to that list: someone who is better than you. Are you the smartest person you know? Are you the wealthiest person you know? If your answer to either of those questions is yes, its time for you to get out and meet some new people. Today's challenge is to find people who are better than you. Do not get this challenge confused by allowing people who make you feel insecure and "less than." Do not ever allow anyone to make you feel that way and if its clear they do so on purpose, grab the scissor and cut all ties. No one is better simply because of who they are; they are better because of what they have accomplished and because of their potential to accomplish more. Find people whose behavior is what you aspire to be and allow their attitudes to rub off on you. This person could be a mentor who just passed the NY bar (Congrats XW) or they could be a friend who is a better writer or a better dancer than you are. Connect with people who are better at the things you seek to improve about yourself.
Today's Song Choice: Greatest Love of All-Whitney Houston
SN: If you missed the Eagles v. Redskins game last night you missed an EPIC win!

GREAT morning beautiful people!! TGIF!
I challenge you all to cease searching for the approval of others. Seek first to accept everything about yourself and to love yourself unconditionally. Do not worry about whether your friends will approve of your decisions or whether your family will be disappointed. While I admit there is a special kind of satisfaction that comes with hearing "job well done" I encourage all of you to motivate yourself. You know when you did a good job and you know when you fell below the standard of excellence. Make all of your decisions going forward based on what really makes you happy. Work where you want to work. Date who you want to date. Live where you want to live. Drive what you want to drive. Eat what you want to eat. Teach people how to treat you. Set your own standards and do not allow the opinions of others change them. As long as you allow your decisions to be influenced by what you believe others will think, you will be married to the opinions of others. Its time to divorce yourself of those opinions and live your life for yourself! Although your decisions may impact someone else's life, you are the only one who has to live with all of the consequences of your decisions. Make your own mistakes. Make your own goals. Create your own stamp of approval and stamp your own life.
Its time to do your happy dance. Today's song choice: Kid Rock-Born Free
