Oh, You're STILL A Lebron Hater? Sucks for YOU ^___^!

Another post about Lebron and the Miami Heat? F*ckin right! 

Now that Lebron James and the Miami Heat are the 2012 NBA Champs after 5 games against the OKC Thunder, I *thought* haters would have something else to talk about. I thought wrong. For a second there I forgot what haters do: Hate no matter what. 

This time the hate backfired and motivated Lebron James to earn his throne and show the world why he is nicknamed The KANG! 

"He's not clutch."
"I will never be a fan of LeBRICK James."
"The Miami Heat belong to D-Wade."
"Lebron James is not a 4th quarter player."
"How can he be the King if he doesn't have a ring?" 
Say mashed potatoes and gravy. 

Whats the best way to silence a hater? WIN! Winning is what Lebron did and what he will continue to do. Even if he doesn't win another championship he will still be a winner. 

Lebron's finals demons have been exorcised and he deserves to be called the MVP of the finals and a CHAMPION. 

There are 3 things Lebron haters can't seem to stop saying...

3. "Skip Bayless said..." Lebron James haters' #1 source is Skip Bayless. He's the president of their pitiful ass Lebron Haters Club. They watch Skip Bayless everyday for pointers because they don't have an original thought in their brain. Their logic is "Skip Bayless said..." Skip tells the most 1/2 truths that are ever not the whole truth. Skip takes everything Lebron does out of context while sitting there filled with self-hatred and obvious jealousy. He's made a career out of hating the current best player in the game. Who do you think allowed him to build his career solely off of his feelings towards Lebron James?  People with miserable lives who need someone like Skip Bayless to validate their unfounded hate. I'm lookin at you, Lebron haters. Stop playing yourselves. 

2. "You're a bandwagon fan." Every year for basketball and football (I don't watch baseball), fans of the favored team are accused of being bandwagon riders. "If you weren't a (insert team name here) in 1995 and you're  fan now, you're not a real (insert team name here) fan. FOH with that! Calling someone a bandwagon fan is a cheap shot. Its an easy way to get them to justify their fan-dom. Thats how you have people claiming they were fans since they were kids. If you can't reach the player with your hate, go after the player's fans. So original. If I were a betting woman I would surmise 1/2 of the people who hate Lebron do so because of his fans. Haters think Lebron's fans are blind to his mistakes and missteps but that is not the case with the Lebron fans I know.  We see his mistakes just like a hater does, but we don't focus on it because we know he's only human. A hater acts like Bron Bron should hang himself after every game. Friggin lames. 

1. "...but Kobe has 5 rings." When all else fails, the Kobe fans come out of the woodworks and compare apples to oranges. There HAS to be an unwritten rule for all Kobe fans: If you love Kobe, you must HATE Lebron. No exceptions.  Wompity womp! Lebron's fans give Kobe his props but Kobe fans seems to struggle with the inverse. Kobe and the Lakers were not even in the finals but Kobe's fans found a way to work his name into the conversation saying Lebron isn't as great as Kobe. Kobe fans, Lebron James is currently the best player in the NBA and he's not showing any signs of slowing down or shutting down.  Oh, and I we see those "one ring" jokes coming so get some new material. If I were a Lebron hater I would have stopped hating the moment he said he felt sorry for me for being a hater. That wasn't enough for ya'll huh?

I'm not saying you have to be a Lebron James fan. I know some of you are a lost cause. Just know this: Lebron's fans need you to come up with something more original. Really guys, the things you say when hating on him have gotten old.

Today is about Lebron's GREATNESS! His reign as the Kang is just beginning. Long Live The Kang!

Lebron James & The MIAMI HEAT are the 2012 NBA Champions!

RIP to all the "Lebron is ringless jokes." 


In a stunning upset, the Miami Heat defeated OKC Thunder 121-106 to become the 2012 NBA Champs!
Actually, by the time the 4th quarter rolled around, the beating was hard to watch. I hope you all had an opportunity to witness history-Lebron James got his first (of many more to come) championship ring. As a longtime fan of Lebron James, I shed a single tear from my left eye *and then I hit my dougie.*


Of course, people are still trying to find a way to hate on Lebron but this is the time to give him props. He ended the last game of the NBA season with a triple double: 28 points; 13 assists and 11 rebounds. He was the unanimous choice for the Bill Russell MVP trophy for the 2012 NBA finals. Accepting his trophy, James says his first thought when he realized they were champs was "Its about damn time." Indeed, it is about damned time. 


Don't be such a hater you can't give respect where its due...it makes you look stupid. You can't deny Bron's will to win or the hard work he put in to get where he is.

With the official parade on Monday, I know the city of Miami and South Beach are gonna be LIVE until Tuesday!

The People v. Lebron: 4 Reasons People Hate on Kang James

Right now, Lebron James is one of the most hated athletes in the world.

After the Miami Heat beat OKC Thunder last evening, the Lebron hate was at an all-time high. I'm sure it was because people realized Bron Bron is closer than he's ever been to getting a ring. I was not out at a bar watching the game but I saw Facebook and twitter updates. People don't want to see Lebron be great. 


Full Disclosure: I am a Lebron James fan. I say that proudly. I do not lend my fan-dom to any NBA team. I prefer college sports anyway. I grew up in Palm Beach County, Florida where Miami Heat fans dominate the sportsbar scene. I am not a Miami Heat fan. Never have been. I support the Miami Heat because Lebron is a member of their team. 


 The hatred for Lebron has gotten out of hand. 


I find the vitriol "haters" throw his way disturbing. People are saying its borderline distrubing and borderline bothersome. Its not borderline anything...its full blown.You can say I'm jaded by my fan-dom but thats just your denial. People are wishing for career ending injuries and praying for him to lose. Where they do that at? Its just not healthy. People need to chill. I wouldn't be surprised if people had shrines dedicated to Lebron's demise. Then, theres this kid who had a meltdown after game 3. There is also a website, Ihatelebronjames.com that is dedicated to hating on Lebron James. 


What is wrong with you people? What did Lebron do to ya'll?


The hatred for Lebron is personal <---that doesn't make ANY sense. Why? You can't personally hate people who don't know you. If Lebron wouldn't know you if he passed you on the street its time to hang up the personal attacks. What is the point of hating when the person doesn't give two f*cks about your hatred? Do you think you could meet Lebron and tell him you're the President of the "I hate Lebron" club and he's going to be bothered? He will probably feel sorry you're wasting your life hating on him. Hell, I don't even know the haters and I feel sorry for them. He's going to get in his $400,000 car, drive to his $5 Million home and sleep in his $50,000 bed. Whats your life like? 


Every move he makes is criticized. Everything he says is cast in a negative light to keep the hatred going. Everything he does is wrong. Every move he makes is a misstep. He can't even catch a cramp without eliciting some criticism. Anyone who has played sports knows how painful a cramp can be. Lebron is not human so he should not be getting cramps, right? Oh, and every loss his team endures is his fault. 


All in all, it seems everyone cites the same sorry ass 4 reasons as justification for why they don't like Lebron. 

4. They need SOMEONE to Hate On. Its no secret haters are unhappy with their miserable lives. Happy people don't have time to hate on others. Lebron Haters have too much time on their hands. Its interesting how you can ask some people why they hate on Lebron and they don't have a unique answer. They try to ignore his stats and multiple MVP seasons. These people need someone to hate on to make themselves feel better. Lebron happens to be their subject of choice. Shit is sad as f*ck, man. 


3. Lack of Self-Actualization. Lack of personal fulfillment is a real struggle. What do you do when you realize you are failing at life? The answer for Lebron haters is to hate on Lebron. I bet some of the Lebron haters look at Lebron and think they could have been just as good as him if they were given a chance. A good portion of them are former basketball players who didn't make it past the county basketball league. They think they should have a sneaker deal instead of selling sneakers at Foot Locker. They had talent. They had potential. They had an agent who believed in them. Things just didn't add up for them. Instead of trying to seek their real purpose in life, they would rather hate on the person who seems to have everything they believe they should have. Pitiful. 

2. Lebron James is Cocky.  Some haters say they don't like Lebron because he didn't earn his title as "The King." Its obvious these people don't know the real story behind that nickname. First, Lebron did not dub himself "The King." Before Lebron entered the league, the media was pumping up stories of him being the greatest player. He had a Nike shoe deal before he even played his first game. There were commercials calling him great before he had an opportunity to prove himself. None of this was his doing. 


Those same haters who say "Oh I don't like Lebron because he's too cocky" would say "I don't like Lebron because he's too humble." You can't win with some people.  Its ok as long as everyone else does it but as soon as Lebron does it, all hell has to break loose. People want Lebron to be great but not talk shit about it. They want him to make impossible shots and be demure. They want to immortalize him in commercials and posters while expecting him to be conservative. Even neighborhood players on the blacktop aren't humble. That is what basketball is about: talking shit and being cocky. 


1. The Decision. This is unequivocally the number 1 reason people cite as their reason for hating on Lebron.  Ever since he left Cleveland, people have had this deep-seated hatred for Lebron. What did he do that was so awful? He saw an opportunity and he went for it. He saw a better chance for him to win a title and he took it. He has never kept silent about his quest to win championships. 


Instead of acknowledging how the media hyped it up people focus on Lebron's role. The media didn't HAVE to pick it up. They didn't have to advertise so much about it. Haters say it was over the top, unnecessary, ridiculous, and COCKY. "The nerve of Lebron to think he could call a press conference to announce where he was going to play ball." NEWSFLASH: You watched it. Companies bought ads. Lebron didn't owe Cleveland anything. He still doesn't. I know he was their franchise player and he's from Akron. Save that argument. Just because its your hometown it doesn't mean you owe it to them to throw your potential away. 


I think the REAL problem is that Lebron chose to be proactive about his career path. People wouldn't have a problem if he was traded against his will because then "it is what it is." If he was underperforming or got injured the owners would not care about him. If the tables were turned and Lebron was traded he would be the subject of one of those "wasted potential" stories. He gave Cleveland 7 years and took them deeper into the post season than they would have ever gone without him. Now that the Cavs do not have Lebron James, they are like the Temptations without David Ruffin---->a team LOOKING for a Lebron James. 


I can grasp people from Cleveland being upset because of the way he left but I don't understand why it seems everyone outside of Miami is still holding a grudge. Lebron is not the first person to leave Cleveland and he won't be the last. Some won't even acknowledge how he donated the proceeds from advertisements to several charities.  His desire to win can't be denied. He took a pay cut to play in Miami.  


People forget Lebron is only 26 years old. At 26, I can't imagine having to deal with the stuff Lebron endures on a daily basis. Some of ya'll are still struggling with the way you were treated in high school 10 or 20 years ago. Half of ya'll can't handle a subtweet or an honest reference to your ugly outfit. 

You can hate on Lebron and the Miami Heat all you want, but  they deserve to win the title. If hating on Lebron and the Heat is the highlight of your day, your life sucks.  Thats right, you have a suck-y life. 5-10 years from now when he has had a full opportunity to exceed all expectations, the Lebron haters will realize they latched on to the wrong cause. I hope Lebron wins umpteen championships & becomes the most unstoppable and feared player in the league. I say that not only as a fan but as someone who wants to see him go even further than anyone has ever imagined if only for the sake of showing people how ridiculous they are. 


Oh, Laker fans I see ya'll. Get your predictable ass arguments about Lebron having 1 ring and Kobe having 5 rings ready. So typical. So original. 


Just get over yourselves.

In case you missed it last night, the Miami Heat created a special intro for their fans to watch during the opening of their game last night. Before you go judging me, I know the Lebron & Miami Heat haters are gonna have something to say but I like it. I hope Bron gets his ring this year!

Sharing is Caring: The Demonization of LeBron James

Starting with the hour long press conference when he announced his decision to "take his talents to Miami," LeBron James is quickly becoming one of the most hated professional athletes in America, if not the world. Oh wait, let me think about this: The burning pitch forks outside of Mike Vick's home are gone, Plaxico Burris has been released from prison and continues to fly under the radar, Barry Bonds is still not talking, Tiger Woods is still Tiger woods, Kobe didn't make it to the finals and Allen Iverson is playing overseas. I can't think of anyone more hated than him sooooo let me change my previous statement: LeBron James is the Most Hated Athlete in America. 


Full disclosure: I have been a fan of LeBron James since 2003. To those not familiar with James' career, it means I have supported him since he was drafted to the Cavaliers and then moved to the Miami Heat. Does it bother me that other people don't like him? Not one bit. Why? Because I know no matter how hated he is by a large number of people, he still returns to a life that is better than 90% of Americans. To put it in his own words,

"For those who want me to fail, they will have to go back to their lives with the same problems they had...” -LeBron James

There was an article on Forbes.com that discussed this phenomenon and they called it The Demonization of LeBron James. You can read parts of it below. 

Now that the NBA season is over, I have taken a moment to reflect. The lasting memory is not of the glorious success of the Mavs. It is of LeBron James and the season-long media/fan obsession with seeing him and the Heat fail. As one weary sportscaster put it, “We discuss LeBron as if he was our media Facebook status.”

It occurred to me that if all I knew about someone is that he announced a job move and staged it so that $2 million in cash would be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of America, my first reaction would probably be, “Now there’s a person with media savvy who is also a good person at heart.”  Add the fact that the donated cash was virtually all the advertising revenue from that single event and I would feel reassured it was not just a ploy for disguised greed.  If I further discovered that another $1 million in computers and Nike equipment was spread among eight Boys and Girls clubs – most notably Akron, and Cleveland, I would feel even better about the donor who gave back something significant – not just empty words and a wave – to the cities he was raised and was employed.

But if I knew nothing more, I would probably scratch my head about why the network that aired the announcement only made a minor footnote of the $3 million chartable aspect of the event.  And I would scratch my head again if the donor is primarily blamed for the event, when the worst part about it was the publicity, controlled by the network. If I took a moment to reflect, I would say, “Wait a minute. ESPN controlled the sickening number of promotional ploys leading up to the decision. Only ESPN could create the hype because only ESPN controls the airspace.” Then I would say, “For all I know ‘The Decision’ was ESPN’s title.”  Clearly, ESPN made the decision to announce the upcoming decision over and over again, day and night as if it was the second coming of Jesus Christ, instead of the second team for King James. Yet, the demon as crowned by the media was James, not the media itself.  This was the beginning of the demonization of LeBron James.

So let’s add a few other facts. The City of Cleveland and the donor’s prior employer had the benefit of his services for seven years.  During that time the employer’s product (a team) went from mediocre-at-best with a half empty arena to a team on the verge of being the best in the world with a frenzied sold-out arena.  The owner made millions. The local economy grew by millions per year. Yet the employee who is leaving didn’t say anything bad about the City before he left. In fact, he said he loved them and he understood their frustration. His kind words came despite knowing they were burning his uniform in effigy and creating as much venom as their imagination could muster.

In response to the employee’s resignation, the employer’s principal owner called him a “coward”, who was “selfish” and one who committed an act of “betrayal” for exercising his lawful right to pick a new employer. Objectively, on those facts, I hope we would all conclude that if the employee gave up millions of dollars in pursuit of a championship, that kind of selfishness is not so bad.  The reprehensible selfishness would have been demanding all the money he could get even if it hurt the teams salary cap – financial stability.

It seems like the popular thing to do is to hate LeBron James. Sadly, seeing LeBron, and consequently the Heat, fail has became an obsession for far too many people. Its stomach turning actually. What did LeBron do to them? Some people justified their feelings by saying LeBron opened himself up to the criticism via his own cocky behaviors. Others are critical of the "haters" for being too sensitive about sports. I think its pitiful. I was disappointed in him as a fan for a short time but I got over it and thats the way it should go. There are people who allowed the way he played to ruin their work week and they took it out on their families. How crazy is THAT? LeBron doesn't even know they exist!! All you can do is hate him from a distance and how is it benefiting your LIFE to do that?

Do people take sports too seriously? Does LeBron deserve all of the hate? Are you still salty about the Mavs winning the 'ship? FYI, I'm still #teamlebron!
