NEW MUSIC: Cassie's "Make You A Believer"

If you ask me, and I know you didn't but you kinda did because you came to MY blog (Chick logic! *zing*), singing is NOT Cassie's strength.  Hell, performing is not her strength either. Don't act like you have forgotten the time she tried to sing her single Me & U on 106 & Park. Now all shade aside, I think Cassie is beautiful, gorgeous even. Maybe her strength is writing or simply "looking pretty." I think she can make something of her music career in this "new" industry without having much singing talent. Its sad, but true. She already has Diddy's team of hustlers behind her and in this day and age it appears all you need is a dedicated team. If RiRi can make it to the top of the charts without being able to hit ONE note live, there is hope for her to make it too. I love RiRi but ya'll know she "talks" and puts on a sexual tease during her shows. Its no big deal because even though the reviews for Ri's shows are consistently bad, people continue to buy tickets to her shows and her albums. If Cassie can get her lip synching technique together I think she can make a comeback. She could probably go on tour with Dru Hill and Jagged Edge who are also looking to make a comeback. They could all do a song together like the celebs did for the What's Going On remake except this time it wont be for charity. DJ Khaled could probably help out with this since he knows how to get umpteen people to spit verses on one song. They could all land a reality show with Vh1 where they chronicle their efforts to make a comeback. <----this is me being nice.

Is it really a "comeback" though? Cassie did manage to stay in the spotlight as the unofficial 1st mistress of Bad Boy and as a cover model for different magazines including the one featured in the above footage. She also managed to land an endorsement deal for my favorite brand of beauty products, Carol's Daughter. Would I call it a comeback? Not really considering she was never really "here." From her debut people were skeptic of her talent. She dispelled all of Diddy's points that "she had raw talent and was just nervous" every time she performed live. It only took people a few weeks to realize she wasn't a great singer. I felt bad for Cassie because I felt like she was being pushed to do something she wasn't ready for. Do I think she's just another woman who remains relevant because everyone knows she's Diddy's main squeeze? She isn't the first and she won't be the last.

Your thoughts? Are you feelin the new song?
