Its very likely that most people will remember Kanye West for his controversial moments than they will for his music. Remember this moment?? BTW, Beyonce's reaction to his outburst is HIGH-larious! She was genuinely horrified! How could we forget this moment during the 2005 Hurricane Katrina telethon?? Where would we be without Kanye's dramatic outbursts??
West released his debut album The College Dropout in 2004, his second album Late Registration in 2005, his third album Graduation in 2007, his fourth album 808s & Heartbreak in 2008, and his fifth album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in 2010. His five albums, all of which have gone platinum, have received numerous awards and critical acclaim. As of 2011, West is the most honored rapper in Grammy history with a total of fourteen awards. On December 17, 2010, Kanye West was voted as the MTV Man of the Year by MTV. Billboard ranked Kanye West #3 on their list of Top 10 Producers of the decade.
Kanye has worked with musical greats like Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, Ludacris, Adam Levine, Jay-Z, and Jermaine Dupri and he continues to make great music.
On October 23, 2010, he premiered a 35 minute long music video for his song Runaway. Rolling Stone magazine placed the song at number one on their list of the Best Singles of 2010 maintaining, "In 2010, no other song was so crazily epic or jaw-droppingly gorgeous — not on the radio, not anywhere."
Despite his Gemini split-personality antics, the Kanye West brand is expanding into other genres. 'In addition to his shoe line Air Yeezy, he has blessed the world with a new line of scarves and he has a reported fashion line for men and women in development and an upcoming collaborative album with Jay-Z in the works.
He is arrogant.
He is cocky.
He is difficult.
But I love him anyway.
