Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

GREAT morning beautiful people!!! Happy "almost Friday!!!!"

In the spirit of thinking outside of the box, I give you "The Dont Quit Poem." Check the video below

There is ALWAYS a reason to keep pushing. Whether you decide to keep working towards the same goal you set when you were in 6th grade or whether you find yourself changing directions midway through there is no reason to completely throw in the towel. Giving up on yourself and on your vision of success is unacceptable. Internalize that belief. Regardless of what obstacles present themselves do not allow them to break your spirit. By all means you should gauge the wind and adjust your sails but do not pull over and give up on the course completely. Do not become discouraged if everything does not work out in your favor right away. Remember the fable about the tortoise and the hare? The slow and steady tortoise eventually beat the hare when it counted most. You may be like the speedy and agile hare or the slow and steady tortoise but you must finish the race strong. Continue to work towards what YOU have set as your standard of success and do not be afraid to chart your own course.  Continue to remain thankful and humble for all of your blessings.

No excuses!!

Today's song choice: Brian McKnight-One last cry (Its been stuck in my head all morning)

P.S. A special shout out to AMH for his assistance in writing this post. It is officially a two-way street :)

Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

GREAT Morning Beautiful people!!! Happy "almost Friday" to all of you.

Maybe you don't like your job, maybe you didn't get enough sleep, well nobody likes their job, nobody got enough sleep.  Maybe you just had the worst day of your life, but you know, there's no escape, there's no excuse, so just suck up and be nice.  ~Ani Difranco
Its "almost Friday" and that means its time to stop making excuses and make the most of whats left of this week. WE are all adults and as such we should be able to handle things we do not like and still strive for excellence. As today's quote suggests, you're not alone in the way you feel. Maybe its raining where you are, maybe traffic was horrible this morning, maybe you were late for work for the first time, maybe you read the wrong chapter for class...the world is filled with maybe. Recognize that making excuses and dwelling on the negative things in your day wont make a difference. What will make a difference? Deriving energy and motivation from the positive things. Instead of complaining about the rain be thankful that you can see, feel and hear it. Instead of complaining about traffic be thankful for a means of transportation. Instead of complaining about being late for work, suck it up, acknowledge your shortcomings and have the most productive day at work ever! Instead of complaining about anything, before you part your lips to voice a complaint stop yourself and voice something positive instead. It will make a huge difference in the way your day turns out.

Don't think you can do it? I'll give you a jumpstart: "Its soo ugly outside but I'm glad I have my umbrella and that I was prepared for a rainy day!"

No Excuses. Make it Happen!

Sidenote: Its an UGLY rainy day in the DMV and as a native Floridian I'm perplexed by people who seem to forget how to drive when the skies open up. Can someone explain this to me before I tell all residents of the DMV to suck it up?? Thanks in advance!

Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

GREAT morning everyone! First off I want to thank you all for your patience. Between my computer's connection issues and issues with blogger, its been a whirlwind the past few days but lets hope all of the internet and connectivity issues are behind us. Sheesh! Check today's quote:

“Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself.”

-St. Francis de Sales

My patience has been tested time and again over the past few days. It was tough by I remained steadfast and faithful that it would work out. I'm remaining hopeful that these kinds of issues will come few and far between if they must present themselves. I said that to say that I encourage you all to cultivate a patient attitude. Hindsight is always 20/20 but you can improve your outlook in the present by taking your time with the situations that you're in. Rather than rushing to complete a task, approach it with such a meticulous and effective attitude that you surpass all expectations once you complete it. Instead of rushing through your daily activities, allow yourself the time to stop and take it all in. Look around your office, look around your room, look around your car and process everything that you have. Before you complain and before you give in to frustration remember what you are working to achieve. Appreciate your blessings and have patience with yourself because it could have been worse.

Today's song:

Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

GREATmorning beautiful people! To make up for the past few days, I decided to choose a few quotes for today.

Do more than is required. What is the distance between someone who achieves their goals consistently and those who spend their lives and careers merely following? The extra mile. -Gary Ryan Blair

Failure doesn't mean you are a failure it just means you haven't succeeded yet.  -Robert H. Schuller
By working faithfully eight hours a day you may eventually get to be boss and work twelve hours a day. -Robert Frost

Its almost Friday and for many of you that means you are running low on motivation. Trust me, I understand the feeling. I challenge you to imagine how you will feel once you attain what you work for. Imagine how satisfying it will be once you are recognized for your hard work by being blessed with a promotion. Imagine how wonderful you will feel once you close on your first house. Allow yourself to dream. Allow yourself to imagine. Allow yourself to fantacize. Why? Because when you feel like you can't go on, when you feel like quitting slapping your boss you should use your imagination as your motivation.

Dont imagine too long, life and opportunity will pass you by. Allow your mind to wander, but bring it back to reality and transform your excitement into positive energy and motivation.

Love!

Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

Good morning all! Happy Thursday! Here is today's quote:

"To create something exceptional, your mindset must be relentlessly focused on the smallest detail." -Giorgio Armani

Paying attention to detail can be the difference between making a positive first impression and a negative one. We all know how difficult it is to change one's impression of us after we have failed to put our best foot forward. The last thing you want to do is put in extra hours to make your dreams come true and then lose your grip because you failed to pay attention to detail. As my grammy says "dot your eyes and cross your tees." In other words, doublecheck EVERYTHING! Remember every step you take is a step to build your brand. YOU have to decide what kind of brand you want to build. If you want to be known for your dependability then go the extra mile to make others recognize your brand as such. If you want to be known as a stickler for perfection then spend your time perfecting everything you put out as your work product!

Focus on building and maintaining a positive brand! You can do it! I believe in you!

Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

Good morning all!!! Here is today's quote:

"Begin difficult things while they are easy.  Do great things while they are small.  The difficult things of the world must once have been easy.  The great things must once have been small." -Unknown

We've all had to deal with things that seemed impossible to accomplish at first. The assignment seemed so huge you thought about throwing in the towel before you even attempted to conquer it. Before you give up, break down large tasks into smaller ones. With each task you complete you will gain more confidence and you will be closer to tackling the task.  Before you allow yourself to be discouraged by what may seem to be a daunting task, take a moment and remember this quote. Use your imagination to turn mountains into anthills. No matter how large or impossible the task or goal may seem, if you break it down into smaller things it will not seem so out of reach.

Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

Good morning everyone! Let me be the first to welcome you to the month of July. Its a new month and a new opportunity to make waves in all aspects of your life!

“When you discover your mission, you will feel its demand. It will fill you with enthusiasm and a burning desire to get to work on it.” -W. Clement Stone

Have you ever felt a burning desire to do something? Its the first thing you think of when you wake up (after you thank God for another day) and your mind wanders to it all day. If you feel that desire, run with it and discover your true mission! We are all here to accomplish great things and considering the stiff competition it is best that we take advantage of our unique gifts. Your mission is to listen to the voice inside your head encouraging you to follow your dreams! I believe in you!

Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

Good morning friends! Its time for today's quote:

“There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.”-Douglas H. Everett

Its day 24 of "Visions to Reality" month, have you made any progress?? Its ok if you havent. Take time to reflect about what has held you back. Be brutally honest with yourself. Make a to-do list and prioritize the tasks. You should start to feel more excited with each task you cross off.

If you have been working towards your dream, that is absolutely wonderful and I look forward to updates from you. If you dont like the direction of your life and you want to live your dream stop saying it and start taking action!!

Sidenote: Look for my updates by the end of this month.

You know the drill. You see the ground. Strap up your running shoes and hit the ground running!!

Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

Good morning all!!! Wow its Thursday already?!
Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.
-Thomas Alva Edison

It is great to be inspired. It is great to want to make a difference. However none of these things mean anything without hard work and dedication. Do not be fooled by "get rich quick" schemes and lottery drawings most people become successful after they have spent time working at their craft. Success does not happen over night, you must use your inspiration as motivation to succeed. Word to Jesse Jackson.

The grave yard is filled with people who were inspired but did not work to make their dreams come true. While you are blessed with new days and new opportunities take advantage of your time by working for your dream. This leads me to a bonus quote, check it after the jump.

Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

Good morning ladies and gents! Here is today's quote:
"There's no limit to what a man can achieve, if he doesn't care who gets the credit."
 -Laing Burns, Jr.

Getting credit for a job well done is always nice. I hope none of you become one of those people who focus their energy on doing things they know other people will see. While there are exceptions for intellectual property and various issues with compensation many of your quests to receive credit will prove fruitless. Have you ever met someone that focused all of their attention on making sure they got credit for even the most menial tasks? How much work do they actually finish? Do not go around waiting for someone to congratulate you on your accomplishments. Do not hold your breath to hear the words "Job well done." Complete a task with excellence and move on! The time you spend waiting for positive reinforcement from others could have been spent on another task. Time wasted is time lost.  Unless they are your boss or can have an effect on your career, do not pay them with your attention. Focus on self-gratification techniques and do not give someone the power to break your spirit.

This post is dedicated to all of my readers who are committed to striving for excellence!

Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

Goodmorning beautiful people! Congrats you've made it over the hump & into the home stretch. Before you gear up to steal 3rd base, take a moment to read  today's quote:

“Each time we face our fear, we gain strength, courage, and confidence in the doing.”
-Unknown

Allow me to narrate: I had the opportunity to have a wonderful chat with my friends yesterday and I feel so much better. I vented; they nodded. I screamed in frustration; they listened. I did not have the strength to face my fears alone and I realized that I do not have to. I'm always weary of people who claim they do not have close friends. I believe in order to have good friends you must be a good friend. If you are someone who believes they do not have at least one close friend, it is time for you to reflect on the type of friend you are to others. Friends can be a missing link in our lives and provide the extra push we need to face our fears. My friends know my demeanor and they can tell when something is not right. They motivate me. They encourage me. They humble me. I love my friends near and far. I could not be the person I am everyday without the many (and there are many) late night chats, afternoon lunch dates, Sex & The City watch parties, ice cream breaks and daily check ups that you all provide. My friends are like my family away from home and I appreciate them.

Live well.
Love hard.
Laugh often.

Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

Good morning friends! Happy Thursday!

"In the end, it’s extra effort that separates a winner from second place. But winning takes a lot more that that, too. It starts with complete command of the fundamentals. Then it takes desire, determination, discipline, and self sacrifice. And finally, it takes a great deal of love, fairness and respect for your fellow man. Put all these together, and even if you don’t win, how can you lose?"
-Jesse Owens

Meditate on these words. Read them more than once if you have to. Dig deep inside your spirit to find personal meaning in them.  Hold on to that meaning and keep it with you throughout the day. As you meditate, keep in mind that you determine what winning means to you and it does not always mean breaking the finish line ribbon.

Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

Goodmorning folks! I hope you all woke up on the right side of the bed with a smile. Its yet another beautiful day today, I hope today's quote helps you make the most of it.

“Kind hearts are the gardens, Kind thoughts are the roots, Kind words are the flowers, Kind deeds are the fruits, Take care of your garden And keep out the weeds, Fill it with sunshine Kind words and kind deeds.”
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Kind actions begin with kind thoughts. Kind thoughts lead to kind words. Kind words lead to kind actions. Kind actions spread like wildfire. I challenge you to nurture your kind thoughts today. I know it may be difficult to be kind to everyone Remember you have the power to make a difference make the most of that power!

Check out this brief video about random acts of kindness:

The message is helping others helps yourself. A true statement indeed.

Hit the ground running.

Out the door. . . inspirational quote to start your day

Good morning ladies and gents! I hope you've all fully recovered from your Cinco de Mayo celebrations. Its time for my favorite part of the day, the "out the door" quote(this is the point where I get really excited):

To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.
- Anatole France

Every accomplishment starts with a vision or a dream. Dreams inspire us to act, plans inspire us to believe. Going forward, I encourage all of you to take a few moments, or hours, to dream about what you love. Think about the moments where you are most happy. If it helps, think about your answer as a kid when you were asked "what do you want to be when you grow up?" Has it changed? If so, why has it changed? If not, what could you do to improve your dream? Think about what you would do if you never had to worry about money or time. Would you become a teacher? A chef? A stay at home parent?

Give yourself permission to dream. More importantly, give yourself permission to pursue your dream. It sounds cliche but life is too short to spend it doing something that makes you miserable. While it may be true that you are making six figures, think about the true cost of your job if you're not happy. We spend a great majority of our lives working towards making a living,it follows that we should spend that time doing something that makes us happy. I hereby declare today FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS THURSDAY! Write down your dreams, research what actions you need to take to make your dreams happen and then DO those things. Reach out to others who are already doing what you dream of doing and seek their advice. You can do it! You can live your dreams! If you believe it (and you work hard for it), you can achieve it!

Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

Good morning ladies and gents! Happy Earth day! Today's "out the door" quote is in honor of Mother Earth:

Waste not the smallest thing created, for grains of sand make mountains, and atomies infinity.
-E. Knight

Ever heard the phrase "haste makes waste?" People make waste too. It is clear by now that we all play a role in the future of our planet. In celebration of our blessing take the stairs instead of the elevator, if you're only going a few blocks you should walk instead of driving, take advantage of recycled grocery bags instead of those made of paper or plastic and utilize reusable bottles instead of plastic water bottles. These are just a few small changes that can drastically reduce your carbon footprint. Celebrate Mother Earth!
