Tell us how you REALLY feel...Senator Reid's comments about Obama

Tired of being PC on those other blogs? Looking for a place to post your true thoughts about a situation without fear of persecution or being blacklisted? Well here it is! This is the place where you can release your steamy comments. No hold's barred! You can remain anonymous! This is your chance to say what you want and tell us how you REALLY feel!

Topic: Were Senator Reid's comments racist? Further, should he resign?

The Background: President Obama forgave Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid yesterday for racially insensitive comments. In "Game Change," Reid's book about the 2008 presidential campaign hitting shelves today, Reid asserts that Barack Obama could win the presidency because he is "light skinned" and "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one." Today, Texas Sen. John Cornyn demanded that Reid resign from his leadership post for his words.

Reid made the comments in an interview for a new book, "Game Change." He called Obama yesterday to apologize, and a range of Democratic leaders, black and otherwise, from the president down, have rallied to his defense.

Go ahead beautiful people of HUSL Today, tell us how you really feel!

Of course he is a racist pig. Most of the people (if not all) on the Hill are racist though, no big surprise there!

When I heard about Reid's comment I didn't feel any kind of way. It was just a reminder of how things are in our society. In order for us to achieve status as African-Americans we have to be extremely polished and be 3x better than the competition. i.e. Obama. If you have a southern twang, are dark-skinned, on par with or a little better than the competition its difficult to establish credibility w/ Greater Society & honestly other African-American. Remember what Jessie Jackson said about Obama!? Reid's comments were harmless compared to Jackson's. Biden, Obama's V.P., made a similar comment to Reid's. He said something about Obama winning because he was handsome + articulate. I don't remember the full statement. In the words of Flavor Flav, "We know what time it is." We know how greater society feels about us + we know how well-spoken African-Americans look + feel about so-called "Hood" or "Country" African-Americans. To me this whole discussion is a waste. As a country there are pressing issues that we need to be talking about like the Wars in Iraq + Afghanistan, Health-Care, the Economy, the National Debt, Energy, Job Development/Creation & Tort Reform.

If we are honest with ourselves, as African-Americans, then we will realize that there are major color issues within the black community. If Obama was the color of Wesley Snipes and spoke with a souther twang, such as Jessie or Al, some of us black folks may not have voted for him. Since as long as I have been alive we have had to wear the mask. It's simply knowing where and when to turn the ebonic colloquialisms on and off. Honestly, he was just stating how some of us feel, but dare not say in front of mixed company.

Harry Reid, C'mon Son! (I forgive you though, because what you said is probably true. I just hate to admit it).

What can you say..its a reminder of the caste system thats being created and perpetuated throughout our society. I was upset by the comment . Sometimes I feel its easier to accept quiet compliance rather hear a counterpart vocally express those views that we all know exist
