Out the door...inspirational quote to start your day

Good morning everyone. Below is today's quote:

“You can't do today's job with yesterday's methods and be in business tomorrow”
-Unknown

Today's challenge is to learn about all the new technology available to us today. Have you ever met someone in your workplace who is out of touch with technology? Whats more they may be so out of touch they have discouraged themselves from even trying. These people are easy to recognize because they are most likely older and if presented with a Powerpoint program they might cringe. I got a promotion once because the senior level employees were so out of touch with technology.

For the younger generations it is more difficult to recognize them. We might not know how to operate an iPod touch or how to use a GPS. Do not miss the opportunity to accomplish something great because you do not know how to operate technology. I know you may be saying you will never become that person, but realize that technology changes everyday. As young professionals get older, it is easy to lose touch with whats new. If you purchased a new computer today by next week the technology on it can be outdated. Stay abreast of all the newest programs. Read technology newsletters and magazines. When new products emerge teach yourself how to use them. Do not stop at products Apple sells, teach yourself how to use as many new products as your schedule allows. Doing so will not only allow you to stay current with technology, it will also encourage you to continue to think ahead. It will also allow you t continue to compete with younger generations.

Randoms: I've been slow to post this week because of an "interactive" staff training all week. I dont know who's idea it was but we are not allowed to bring our laptops in the name of actually "interacting."

Sidenote: If you are in the DMV area or any other area affected by the terrible storm please be safe!
