The "Get Swabbed" Initiative!

Young Shannon Tavarez was playing Nahla in the Broadway version of The Lion King (love that movie!) when she was diagnosed with Leukemia. Unfortunately the clock is ticking and Shannon still needs a bone marrow donor.

How you can help:
If you are interested in seeing if you are a match for Shannon Tevarez, or anyone else who needs a bone marrow transplant, go to getswabbed.org to find out how to become a donor.

The first step is to register as a bone marrow donor, and you can get a kit sent to your home by filling out your information at http://www.dkmsamericas.org. If you are a match to Shannon or any other leukemia patient who needs a bone marrow donation, you will be contacted by DKMS! Like it says in the PSA with Shannon above, you can also go to getswabbed.org for more information.

For more information about the bone marrow drive, go to dkmsamericas.org and for information on Shannon, visit her website, matchshannon.com.

Also The Lion King is putting together a drive on Friday July 23 to get as many people to come out and "get swabbed" to see if they are a match for Shannon and others waiting for a bone marrow transplant.
Find out where you can get swabbed in your area, click here.
