Talented Generation Salutes

Tia & Tamera Mowry

Tia & Tamera Mowry were born July 6, 1978, in in Gelhausen, West Germany. The Mowrys broke the mold of standard twin and triplet actors by appearing together in films and television programs. The duo first gained fame in the 90s for their teen role opposite each other as Tia &Tamera Campbell on the sitcom Sister, Sister. The show ran for 5 years on ABC from 1994 to 1999. In the series they played twins separated at birth who by chance meet each other in a shopping mall.

Check out one of my favorite episodes from the show which also features my other favorite set of twins, Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen.

The girls both went on to attend Pepperdine University and graduated with matching psychology degrees. They co-headlined the family-oriented comedy Seventeen Again (2000), the teen movie The Hot Chick (2002), and for the Disney movies, Twitches (2005) and the 2007 sequel, Twitches Too.

Tamera struck out on her own around 2000, starring in the Billy Graham-produced telemovie Something to Sing About. She also joined the cast of the popular Lifetime medical drama Strong Medicine during that show's 5th and 6th seasons, as Kayla Thornton. From 2006 to 2009, Tia she portrayed medical student Melanie Barnett on the CW comedy-drama series The Game. The series is slated to return to BET Spring 2011.

Check out the pair at a recent appearance on the Wendy Williams show.

On June 20, the beautiful duo starred in Lifetime's Double Wedding. Click here to check out the trailor. The two have remained positive role models for young women from all walks of life.
Random tidbit: You can tell the two apart because Tamera has a mole on her cheek :)

Sidenote: Happy Birthday ladies!!
