African American Music Appreciation Month...

continues with...

Too $hort

We have a lot of bases to cover folks. Stick with me. While many of you may know him from his role as Lew Loc from Menace II Society, Too $hort is a rapper, producer and actor who has had an impact on the music industry and pimp culture alike('memba this?). Much like his colleagues, Too $hort has helped expose people to the many different faces of hip hop, namely its relationship with pimp culture. With his explicit lyrics and funky beats, $hort forged musical connections with the likes of Jay-Z, Tupac, Notorious B.I.G, Snoop Dogg, E-40 and many more. Whats My Favorite Word was released in 2006 and it peaked at number 14.

Too $hort runs his own record label—Up All Nite Records. Artists on the label include The Pack, Dolla Will, Boo Ski, Eyob Fantay and Li'l J & Boi Payton, FX. In addition to creating Up All Nite Records, Too Short has been a mentor at Youth UpRising, a group serving at-risk youths for several years. Too $hort is one of the representatives of the hip hop industry that has his own style and does not apologize for it.

Shouts out to all of my Cali folks! This one's for you!

Just one question: WHATS MY FAVORITE WORD?
